This call for proposals launched in 2008 supports actions aimed at promoting an inclusive and empowered society in Uganda and its specific objectives are:
- Strengthening the capacities of local communities and civil society organisations for social accountability and participatory poverty resource monitoring
- Strengthening downward accountability performance of local governments

Local government empowerment: Empowered local communities and local government structures to effectively respond to development needs within the health and education sectors in 23 sub- counties in 4 districts in the Rwenzori region. The main activities of this project include: Develop training manuals on poverty resource monitoring & tracking; train health management committee from health units and organise & facilitate village & parish review meetings. |

Strengthening pastoralists' voice in decentralised local government processes for sustainable poverty reduction: Reduce poverty, marginalisation and Human Rights violations of the pastoralists in the Rwenzori region. Main activities here include: Build capacity of 8 CBOs to promote rights of pastoralists; develop pastoral community action plan; develop skills of local government, and mainstream gender, environmental conservation, HIV/AIDS & conflict sensitive cases. |
