The Economic and Social Section

OBJECTIVE
The objective of this section is to contribute to a conductive environment for economic growth
and poverty reduction through:
- Supporting the Government to implement the NDP and key economic reforms
(MDG-Contract, PFM reforms)
- MDGs related project interventions (Vocational training projects through NGOs and
Investing in People projects)
- Migration and asylum projects
- Improving strategies, systems and tools to better deliver aid (support to the NAO and
TCF)
Key projects:
- Millennium Development Goals Contract (General Budget Support): € 175 million
- Support to the financial management and accountability programme FINMAP: € 3.7 million
- Support to the Technical and Administrative Support Unit TASU: € 0.82 million
- Non State Actors and downward accountability: € 2.5 million
- Non State Actors vocational training in Karamoja: € 2.5 million
- Non State Actors vocational training in the North: € 3.7 million
- Migration and Asylum projects: € 2.9 million
- Support to the NAO and Technical Cooperation Facility: € 4 million
